Hisense USA has recalled French door refrigerators with an ice maker and bottom freezer that were sold only at Lowe’s.
The refrigerators were sold at Lowe’s and Lowes.com from August 2020 through February 2022 for about $1,500, according to the U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission.
According to the announcement, the door hinge on the unit can break and cause the door to come off.
“The firm has received 139 reports of the refrigerator doors loosening or detaching and five reports of injuries, including foot bruises and lacerations.”
The model number of the 26.6-cubic-feet stainless steel refrigerator is HRF266N6CSE. The serial numbers range from C2020050100001 through C2020123109000.
People who own the refrigerators can contact Hisense to schedule a free in-home repair that includes replacing the door hinges.
