Just before 1:00 a.m. Thursday morning, Washington State Patrol (WSP) responded to numerous 911 calls reporting a vehicle traveling in the opposite direction on I-90 just west of SR 18.

Troopers responded to the area in an attempt to intercept and stop the vehicle. During this time, WSP communications received a total of 13 911 calls updating the location of the wrong-way vehicle. The vehicle pulled over briefly near exit 18 in Issaquah, still facing westbound in the eastbound lanes.

Troopers were then able to intercept the vehicle and prevent the driver from continuing to drive.

The driver was placed into custody for suspicion of impaired driving. There were open containers of beer in between the front seats of the vehicle in plain sight.

The driver was booked into the King County Jail on charges of driving under the influence and reckless driving.
