Kraft Heinz issued a recall of more than 5,700 cases of Capri Sun Wild Cherry juice blend drinks after customers complained of the drinks’ taste and the company realized cleaning solution got into the production line.

Kraft Heinz issued the recall of approximately 5,760 cases of Capri Sun Wild Cherry Flavored Juice Drink Blend beverages Aug. 12 on its website. 

“The voluntary recall comes after diluted cleaning solution, which is used on food processing equipment, was inadvertently introduced into a production line at one of our factories,” the company says.  

Kraft Heinz is actively working with retail partners and distributors to remove potentially impacted product from circulation, the recall notice says.

Kraft Heinz is not currently facing legal action over the recall, but Top Class Actions follows recalls closely as they sometimes lead to class action lawsuits.

Only the Wild Cherry flavored Capri Sun products with “Best When Used By” date of June 25, 2023, are affected.

Consumers who purchased the drink should not consume it and can return it to the store where it was purchased. 

They can contact Kraft Heinz from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday at 1-800-280-8252 to see if a product is part of the recall and to receive reimbursement.

“Kraft Heinz is committed to upholding the highest safety and quality standards,” the Capri Sun recall says. 

In January, Kraft Heinz faced another class action lawsuit. It alleged the company mislabeled its peach mango-flavored MiO product by advertising natural flavors and concealing its artificial flavoring.

Please add me as o bought 6-boxes of these to take with me on Vacation with me. I got sick and found out that there was a recall on these I stopped drinking them and I got better. I usually buy at least two boxes of these per month to take with me fishing so to stay hydrated. But I had to take my purchase of my Capri Sun back to the store I was given no refund and it was not replaced do to the fact they had removed it from there shelves. So I was just out the price of the money for 6/boxes of these that had several bags of the juice in it.

I buy a box of this flavor almost every week for my 2 kids. We have already finished the last box we had last week and do not know now if it was apart of the recall because it has all already been thrown away. They gave very little information on where it was distributed or how long its been available on the store shelves so unsure whether or not we should be concerned about our health now as well?

My son 7 year old that has autism drank the wild cherry flavored capri sun and right after he threw up and his stomach was hurting. He could not tell me how he feel because he also have speech delay. I’m very annoyed with this company because we put our trust in this product for our kids. Now I will be taking my son to the hospital to make sure he is ok. I’m very angry right now because I know that it was not only my son that this happened to. These companies have to do better than a recall. I can give the juice back but what about the amount of juice my son drank already and it made him sick. What do I do now because cleaning solution is Poison when consumed. So this company let millions of people buy poison. Please send me information on this case.
